Chapter Twenty-Six
Megan
“To Roman and Megan, here’s to those who wish them well…and those who don’t? They can go to hell!” Curly raised his wine glass and bellowed the toast to Roman and I and our newfound engagement.
It had been a month since Roman had proposed and things had been going smoothly in our lives. I’d moved in fully, and he’d peeled off wads of cash for me to replace the clothing I’d left behind at mom and dad’s.
I won’t lie, it wasn’t frilly and white and peachy like it had been, I was leaning more towards tight jeans and dark shirts these days.
I even had a leather jacket and a pair of leather boots. Roman had called me his old lady when I’d gotten them and I’d thrilled at the sensation of belonging to a club.
All the members of the Warriors treated me like royalty too, it was strange after going so many years as the preacher’s mousy daughter.
Now I was known as a firecracker, a woman with a big heart and a big laugh…and a big, beast of a man who would decimate anyone who crossed my path.
The ring Roman had picked out was still a little embarrassing to me. But just a little.
I wasn’t used to such a display of wealth though, having been raised to donate mostly to charity and live a simple life on the small funds my father earned through the church.
I was spoiled lavishly though, and Roman had insisted on buying the huge princess cut with the massive center diamond and diamonds all around.
The ring that made my eyes shine as brightly as when I saw his cock, is how he put it.
Not in front of the clerk of course, but later on when we were alone and I slowly unzipped his jeans, savoring the moment his beast of a dick sprung out and amazed me each and every time.
I would never get enough, I never could.
That’s when he’d laughed and told me that was the same look I’d had when the clerk at the jewelry store in the city had pulled the ring out from under the counter.
Hunger and desire, that’s what had made him insist on buying it.
The members of the Warriors who were at our little party all clapped and laughed at Curly’s toast, and I did too.
But the second part was like a little knife in my heart.
Bobby Kirkam and his family were against our union, of course, but I didn’t give two farts in a wind storm about their feelings.
Thanks to Curly for that colorful expression, by the way.
But my parents still refused to talk to me and that hurt every darned day.
I’d tried to go back and sit down with them, but it hadn’t worked. They had ignored me and let me pack a few things from my room but that was it.
I even tried to show mom my ring, to let her know it was legitimate. That this was real.
She wouldn’t even look at me. She’d cried into a tissue and kept her eyes averted the entire time.
